5/7/12
Brainstormed possible research topics.
5/8/12
Started first FQI sheet. Mostly facts and the citation done.
I thought that the citation was going to be difficult and the sheet would be confusing, but it didn’t turn out that hard.
5/10/12
Got first two FQI sheets done and working on my third.
I really started getting the hang of these sheets. I have a proper citation and really good facts on my topic. I think I am in good shape with where I am now and hope to be caught up.
5/16/12
I continued working on my FQI sheets. Worked on creating a character for my narrative.
I am almost done with finishing my FQI sheets and I have learned a lot about my subject, “Ovarian Cancer”. I am really confident with where I am right now and going forward. I think my character is really good and appropriate for my narrative.
5/18/12
Finished all 5 FQI sheets and brain stormed an idea for a narrative
It feels good that all the FQI sheets are done and I’m ready to get on with the narrative.
5/22/12
Continued working on my narrative
I'm having some fun with writing this story.
5/28/12
Prepared for the RNK poem by reading it a few times.
Know a good way of how the poem relates to my story.
5/30/12
Worked on drafts for additional genres.
Mostly thought of the final four genres I would use and started on my first one.
6/1/12
Finished 1 of 4 genres.
I really got a good start on the the four extra genres we need. I am having some fun with making these extra genre pieces.
6/5/12
Finished all 4 genres
I am going to work on the last process journal entry and the Introduction
6/7/12
The reason I chose my topic was because i had a family member suffer from ovarian cancer and i
wanted to find out more about what she went through. I am still happy about my choice because i got really into
researching it and writing about it. The goals I had for my research was just to find out things I had no idea about before and to see life through the eyes of someone with Ovarian cancer.
I found a lot of information about my topic. It was fairly easy to find information. The criteria i use to chose my genres was that it had to relate to my topic. An obituary, for example, is something I chose because ovarian
cancer is usually fatal so an obituary of someone who died of ovarian cancer. The piece that was the hardest to write was the news article because i needed to find out how I could use my topic as a news article.
For this last reflection, you should choosefourof the nine questions listed here: Why did you choose your topic? Are you still happy with your choice? What goals did you have for your research? Did you meet those? How much information did you collect? How easy or hard was it to find information? What criteria did you use in deciding on the genres to include in your paper? What piece was the hardest or most challenging to write?
